Even before the pandemic, many of us spent a lot of time “living” in online spaces, especially with respect to fandom conversations. In the last year and a half, there was even an ongoing fully-online non-convention for fans to enjoy. But online conversations are not like in person ones, and the etiquette of being online is understood differently by younger and older fans. How do we bridge these gaps, how seriously do we take those spaces, and what do we expect of them in the future?
